The CCR2004-16G-2S+ is designed with single-core performance in mind. It comes equipped with the Annapurna Labs Alpine v2 CPU running at 1.7GHz, and surpasses all previous CCR models when it comes to single-core tasks based on per-connection processing such as queues. Despite this large performance boost the CCR2004-16G-2S+ is also extremely efficient; with the best single-core performance and overall performance per watt of any CCR currently available.
The CCR2004-16G-2S+ has a wide range of connectivity options; boasting 16 gigabit ethernet ports, 2 SFP+ cages, a full sized USB and an RJ45 console port all on the front panel. Dual redundant power supplies are built-in for peace of mind on critical deployments and there is active cooling to keep the router performing under heavy loads. The ethernet ports are divided into two groups of 8, with each group managed by a Marvell Amethyst family switch chip. Both switch chips and the SFP+ cages each have a separate 10Gbps, full-duplex, line connected directly to the CPU. To round-out the overall performance the CCR2004-16G-2S+ also comes with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 128MB of NAND storage.
With these design elements the CCR2004-16-2S+ has no bottle necks - as long as the CPU can handle the processing, all ports can reach wire speed. In CPU-heavy configurations performance can surpass the 9 core CCR1009 and even match the 16 core CCR1016. All these performance benefits, with an affordable price tag, make the CCR2004-16G-2S+ the perfect all-in-one solution for small and medium-sized businesses.
